The exact date of the Aluva Police station is not known. The ancestors say that the Aluva Police station was opened as OP near Aluva market. During the period of British reign. Now the Aluva East Police Station building opened on 17.10.1957. Since then it has been functioning in the building situated in 59 cents of land in survey No.512/5B of Aluva East village . The police station is located in the eastern side of Aluva –Perumbavoor road (Private Bus route) in building No XV/221 in Aluva Muncipality.

Aluva Circle was started functioning from 01.08.2002, consisting 2 police stations namely Aluva Police station and Binanipuram police station. On 10.06.2007 Aluva circle office was bifurcated in a new building near Aluva District Police Office. On 06.08.2010 Aluva police station is spitted rename the existing Aluva police station as Aluva East Police station other is Aluva West Police station. Aluva East Later on 2015 Aluva East PS is again divided in to two and formed a new PS named “Edathala” . The Aluva East Police station is situated ½ km away from Alwaye railway station and ½ km away from KSRTC Bus stand.

Aluva East Police Station is one of the first police stations where Janamaithri police station was introduced in Kerala. 8 hours duty systems is implemented in this police station. Police work has undergone multi dimensional changes and had increased manifold during the last two decades. Police has become more service oriented and public friendly.

This Police Station is coming under the jurisdiction of Aluva Circle and Aluva Sub Division.

Sivarathri Maholsavom

Aluva Sivarathri is celebrated at the Siva temple on the banks of Periyar River and this place is called the Aluva Manal Puram (land with sand). Pilgrims offer Bali (sacrifice) to their ancestors in the morning succeeding the holy night.Near the bank of periyar, Aluva Manal Puram, there will be a lots of stalls installed for people for purchasing, shopping, exhibitions, adventure rides for children and adults and lot more. It will remain for two weeks after the offerings of Bali (sacrifice).

Sivarathri celebrated in Aluva, a place in Ernakulam district of Kerala, south India is called the Aluva Sivarathri festival. The celebration of Sivarathri in Aluva is very famous in Kerala. The month of Kumbham is noted for the Sivarathri festival which falls in February - March.

Major Hindu Temples and festivals

Majority of the people lives in the limit are Hindus and they celebrating various festivals . Every year thousand of devotees travel to the Aluva Siva Temple in Kerala . The temple is not a concrete structure, but created primarly from bamboo poles and palmleaves. The structure is over the Sivalingam which is said to have emerged directly out of the sand on the banks of the periyar river. There is a beautiful procession known as Sivarathri vilakku.     The Asramam in Aluva, founded in 1913. Sree Narayana Guru in order to reach, propagate as well as live the Asvaida Philosophy.     One of the Main Railway station named Aluva junction is situating in Aluva East Police station limit. Aluva Junction is an important station on the Southern Railway. Large number of peoples used this station especially in Indukki district. The main roads are NH-47 and MC Road. Aluva KSRTC Bus stand , Rajiv Gandhi Muncipal Bus stand, Muncipal Stadium are situated in the station limit. The buses services towards Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Munnar,Thiruvananthapuram, are available from KSRTC bus stand.

    With the help and participation of public Janmythri project is being implementing successfully in Aluva East Police Station. Under the leadership of Community Relations Officer GSI Sri.T.I Rajan,10 janmythri beats are functioning at Aluva East Police Station.

    All the Janamythri suraksha project activities are controlled by Janamythri Samithy having prominent personalities of this locality as its members who were selected by Inspector of Police and approved by District Police Chief.
