Kuttampuzha Police station is situated in south east of Ernakulam dictrict.This Police Station was formed and opened in the year 1971 and known as Idamala police station and shifted to Kuttampuzha in the year 1989. At the time of opening this Police Station was under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent of Police Idukki District . In the year 1998 Kuttampuzha panchayathu have been merged into the Ernakulam district and this police station was under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent of Police Ernakulam Rural District . The area is 543.07 Sq. Kms divided in to17 wards with thick Forest and hilly areas boarder share with Coiambatore and Idduki district.

This Police Station is coming under the jurisdiction of Kothamangalam Circle and Muvattupuzha Sub Division.

Thattekkadu

Thattekkadu Birds Sanctury is one of the most important tourism place in Kuttampuzha Police station limit ,It is known as Salim Ali Birds sanctuary. Idamalayar Power project and Bhoothathankettu are also in this limit. Peendimedu (Pooyamkutty)waterfall is another tourism place in the station limit.

Idamalayar

Idamalayar Dam is located on the Idamalayar River near Bhoothankettu, at Ennakal in Kerala. The Idamalayar River is the tributary of Periyar River. The construction of this dam was completed in 1985, with a length of about 1,224 ft and its reservoir spreading over an area of about 28.3 sq km. The reservoir is surrounded by green picturesque hills of the Western Ghats.

Janamythri Suraksha project

With the help and participation of public Janmythri project is being implementing successfully in Kuttampuzha Police Station. Under the leadership of Community Relations Officer ,10 janamythri beats are functioning at Kuttampuzha Police Station.

All the Janamythri suraksha project activities are controlled by Janamythri Samithy having prominent personalities of this locality as its members who were selected by Inspector of Police and approved by District Police Chief.

Women help desk is constituted with the aim of giving assistance in a friendly manner to the women who seek police services. Women help desk provides a huge relief to women who approach the police station for help.
