Pramukthi - Anti drug awareness campaign

An anti-drug campaign called "Pramukthi" was organized by Ernakulam Rural District Police in association with Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with International Anti-Drug Day on June 26th. The campaign ran from June 16 to 26. As part of the campaign, an anti-drug pledge was taken with the participation of over 1.5 lakh students in the rural district. Aravindan  IPS Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau Chennai was inaugurated the campaign and recited the anti drug pledge through Online. District Police Chief K Karthik IPS presided over the function at the Rural District Police Headquarters. Narcotics Cell DySP P.P. Shams, Special Branch DySP R. Rafi and Aluva DySP P.K Sivankutty spoke on the occasion.

As part of the campaign, awareness programs were conducted in various fields including auto and taxi drivers, Kudambasree and Asha activists, members of the Residence Association, voluntary organizations, students, school protection group members, public servants and social workers. Organized anti-drug poster writing, cartoon, quiz, essay writing competitions and awareness cycle rallies for students.
